Start with the gap in your current process
Keep your care system. Bring staff records together.
Already using care-planning software or an external training provider? Check what it covers first. SkillProof is worth exploring when the matrix, certificates and manager follow-up still need a separate spreadsheet.
What the Growth trial covers. Try the Training Matrix, staff evidence uploads, automated training reminders, manager views, Document Management and Audit Pack. Start with a small set of fictional staff and one record from request to report, then decide whether it saves you work.
Choose by need, not sector. Starter covers core training records and standard reminders for one site. Growth adds wider documents, managers, CSV imports and Audit Pack. Professional adds the dedicated Competence workflow and configurable governance. Growth Activities retain their own review and sign-off features.
Documents, integrations and setup: what to expect
Documents: keep training certificates against training records. Use Growth Document Management for wider staff and organisational files, categories, access and review dates. Where staff drive for work, you can organise insurance or MOT evidence without a separate vehicle module. Choose what you need to retain and who can access it.
Existing learning providers: SkillProof can also deliver your own internal courses. CSV exchange, APIs and webhooks are different from a working automatic provider connection. Tell us your provider and the records you want to transfer; we will confirm the available route before you rely on it.
Setup: Use the editable social-care starter as a starting point, then confirm your home's own roles and requirements. Bring questions, not confidential staff files, to the walkthrough. The provider remains responsible for its requirements and review decisions.

Where SkillProof fits.
SkillProof manages workforce training, compliance and development records. It does not replace resident care plans, eMAR, rota, payroll, recruitment, incident, safeguarding or DBS-checking systems. It is not an accredited training provider, an included course marketplace or a universal content-led LMS. It does not decide which regulatory requirements apply or guarantee compliance or inspection outcomes.
Yes. Starter includes standard automated training due and overdue reminders. Growth adds configurable and cross-module reminders, manager access and multi-site oversight. Your provider chooses the training requirements and confirms the dates that drive follow-up.
What can SkillProof manage for a care home?
SkillProof can manage provider-defined role requirements, internal Learning and external training completions, induction, Evidence Vault records, competence checks, professional registrations, policies, supervisions, appraisals, CPD and follow-up. Employees can also share selected current reviewed records through an expiring, revocable Training Passport. It keeps these workforce records connected without replacing resident care systems.
Can SkillProof track the Care Certificate or another national induction framework?
Yes. Providers can configure role requirements, evidence and sign-off around the Care Certificate in England, the All Wales Induction Framework, Scotland's National Induction Framework or NISCC induction in Northern Ireland. The starter setup is not a prebuilt standard-by-standard Care Certificate assessment programme or a complete national pathway. Your provider sets the requirements and completes the assessments.
Can SkillProof record observed competence and manager sign-off?
Professional and Enterprise include the dedicated Competence workflow, with assessment evidence, outcomes and reassessment dates. Growth retains Activities with their own review and sign-off features, but not the dedicated Competence module. The provider remains responsible for deciding whether the person is competent.
Can it track NMC, SSSC, Social Care Wales and NISCC registrations?
Yes. SkillProof records registration details, renewal or review dates, supporting documents and the outcome of manual checks completed by authorised users. It does not automatically verify public registers.
Can bank and agency workers be included?
Yes. Employment type can label permanent, bank, agency and contractor or locum staff. It does not change requirements by itself; providers assign induction and training through role, site, team or individual rules. SkillProof can also record where external evidence is held and support temporary-workforce reporting.
Does SkillProof guarantee compliance or an inspection result?
No. SkillProof organises workforce training, compliance and development records and supports review or inspection preparation. The provider remains responsible for deciding what applies, assessing competence, completing checks and meeting its legal and regulatory duties.
